Master the technique of Backbends in the Backbends workshop at AM Power Yoga.
Backbends are like marmite – you either love them or hate them. But the more you practice asana, the more you begin to realize your own potential.
Having been trained under the professional guidance of Kino McGreggor – Worldwide Ashtanga teacher, Student of Pattabhi Jois and Owner of Miami Life Centre – Chrissy will guide you through a nourishing backbending workshop that will leave you prepared with the tools to take home and practice alone.
The Class will begin with a layered backbend sequence suitable for all levels and will then lead onto a workshop focusing on the “tips and tricks” of how to utilize the body safely and appropriately in order to access the deeper asanas.
The class will involve the use of props- including the wall to understand how effective they can be. We will also explore partner work as well as breathing exercising to help open up the ribs and the spine.
Chrissy believes that yoga is for everyBODY and that we all have the tools deep within to be able to access our deeper selves – all you have to do is learn how to utilise them. During the workshop you will learn to let go of fear and release the inner child!
Suitable for all levels – expect the unexpected – it’s impossible; until it’s possible.
We will explore asanas such as Urdhva Dhanurasana, Dhanurasana, Kapotasana, Scorpion, seated and standing back drops.
